At Owosso Tractor Parts we rebuild these steering valves and power steering pumps.
These valves fit John Deere 50, 520, 530, 60, 620, 630, 70, 720 and John Deere 730 tractors.
These valves can be very temprimental and there are several parts in them that can go bad. Flat spots on the pins and guides cause all sorts of havoc. Some symptoms could be what appears to be a hesitation or catch in the steering just before you steer right or left. Usually the problems occur in the left hand steer. The power steering on these tractors is supposed to be the same operating volume weather you are idle or full throttle. The flow control valve adjuster assures your system operates as is should.
There are actually three different series of these valves as you can see from one of the photos below. That is determined by your tractor serial number. It doesn't matter which one
